The Eulogy is Over…ideas from Jeffery Giesener – SourceMob.com – CEO

All men can see these tactics whereby I conquer, but what none can see is the strategy out of which victory is evolved (Sun Tzu, Art of War).

Your career website, as you once knew it, is dead.

That’s because your Candidates are online engaging with your digital presence on their smartphones, Tablets, Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and even the TV. They are interacting and wanting conversations with your Recruiters on your social domains, within your Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and certainly within your hiring process. Your website is just one channel in a multi-channel Candidate engagement paradigm. It is no longer your major one.  And all of your channels should open the opportunity to engage with Passive Candidates.

So where do you start? According to CareerBuilder, just 20% of Career Sites are mobile enabled? So my question to you is, if in 2012 between 10-20% of your Candidates are searching your jobs on mobile, then when do you plan to mobile enable your Career site and social channels and distribute jobs on mobile smartphones and Tablets?

Have you ever tried to apply to your job postings on a mobile device? That experience for most Candidates is just sheer ugly. To correct this, why not invest this year in browser-based mobile technology to make your Candidate experience better and to allow them to apply on mobile. Morgan Stanley estimates by 2015 there will be over 3 Billion mobile connections. It is not rocket science to believe that your Candidates will be all over mobile searching for jobs. In fact, they already are.

So what do you do first?

The first step is to establish a digital multi-channel recruiting strategy. Once that is done, the next step is to see where you can close the gap between what you have and where you want to be. Finally, you need a way to make everything more efficient.

Let’s face it, you want to spend time engaging with your Candidates, not managing software and trying to get one system to talk to another. Then you need recruiting platform tools that enable you to manage, deliver, and optimize your digital presence across all your channels. Also, you need to have the tools drive the resourcing.

What you don’t want to do is wait…

Because every second you delay, your digital presence becomes fragmented. Not to mention an inconsistent content experience erodes your brand, your revenue and your ability to fill your Talent Community with high-valued Candidates. With the right strategy, plan and mobile responsive tools, you can turn your digital presence from a footnote in your corporate strategy, to its keystone.

It’s your story…Make your story stick with Candidates…

So you see, by deploying the right technology recruiting solutions, finding Candidates who are looking for your jobs will be easier than you think.
