Take Your Career Site Offline

…ideas from Jeffery Giesener – Sourcemob.com – CEO

Would your business consider taking its career website offline? Or having the career website URL say “Site Not Found”?

Did you know that was exactly the case judt 10 short years ago in 1995 when nearly 70% of the Fortune 500 didn’t have a corporate website!

Only 8 years ago (2007) social recruiting was a new and daring phenomenon. A phenomenon no recruiter would touch until LinkedIn convinced the recruiting world its platform is social. Now, at least 90 percent of recruiters use social media (mostly using LinkedIn) in the hiring process to find candidates.

Are You One Of Them?

Did You Know LinkedIn Has Only 200 Million Total Profiles?

However, “Social Recruiting” is not the exclusive domain of LinkedIn. If you are not putting together a unified social recruiting strategy using Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn and Mobile you are letting some of the best Passive Candidates slip through your social recruiting net.

You would assume your best candidate has a Facebook page…check

You would assume your best candidate is tweeting…check…check

And you would probably believe with over 1 Billion Google+ profiles, your candidates are there too…check…check…check

Finally you got to realize that over 70% of job searches are being done on a mobile device today Yes in 2015.

But here is the relevant question. Outside of using LinkedIn’s ad package(s), are you also using Facebook, Twitter or Google+ and Mobile to attract candidates? What is your unified strategy?

And perhaps you are thinking, yes, I know how to use LinkedIn, that’s simple… we pay for an ad or their recruiting packages. But buying ads or paying recruiting fees is frankly not social recruiting.

So at this point you may be also thinking…how do we do social recruiting to find candidates on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and mobile? I will answer that one in a minute…read on….

At SourceMob.com our analytics share that candidates are interested in finding relevant positions and engaging in conversations with Recruiters by having both jobs posts and conversations distributed where they are, on their personal social networks.

To prove it to yourself, just look at your own Career Site analytics. Are they flat to declining? This trend is not going away. Not to mention that this trend is costing your business significant recruiting dollars every month by forcing you to buy more job ads, without improving the results.

Why is this happening? Because the talent your are searching for is no longer coming to your website to Apply in the rates they once did. That doesn’t mean they are not out there. It just means you need to change where you are searching for your Passive and Active talent. It means you need to find your Talent on their social media pages where there over 3.5 Billion profile pages to search through. It means you need to tap your employee networks too.

So how do you cast a social and mobile recruiting net?

I would welcome the opportunity to personally show you how your organization can net Passive and Active Candidates in some of the toughest recruiting areas (IT, Nursing, R&D, Engineering, ect) without you having to pay variable and expensive campaign fees or outside recruiting commissions.
