Being King Is Great!

…HR ideas from Jeffery Giesener – CEO – SourceMob.com

Do you go to work feeling that that your business is functioning in a stable world? Is everything looking bright for 2015? Or are their troubled waters and dark clouds for your recruiting on the horizon?

As a Leader in your industry category, if you did some solid soul searching are you mostly working to maintain the status quo?

What do I mean?…here are some scary sourcing signals to look for:

  • How many new HR marketing channels in the last 2 years have been added to your job advertising mix?
  • How many of these new channels are generating a minimum of 5-10% of your total applies and hires?
  • What would happen if your top two HR marketing channels would disappear?
  • What percent is your number one HR marketing channel of your total recruiting business?
  • How many new Talent Acquisition marketing technologies have you tried in the last 3 years?
  • Where are you with adding Social and Mobile Recruiting?

Do you find yourself and Team always looking in your rear view mirror when it comes to new HR marketing or HR Technology deployment. Have you been watching the significant changes are are happening in the talent acquisition and HR marketing world but you have stayed basically in park?

In both Seth Godin’s book “Tribes” and Clayton Christensen’s book the “Innovator’s Dilemma” they both have described a new paradigm that has changed the marketing playing field. They call it the “New Leverage” where your candidate or in our case our candidates are now in control.

Marketing and HR used to think it was OK to force consumers and now candidates back to Career websites and make them navigate the site as the business wants them too.

But no longer… as all of this has changed in the last couple of years. Today’s “new leverage” has moved to the the candidate and now they get to decide what job are of interest and where they want to see them. They are also in control of which ones they want to share on their social communities (like Facebook/Twitter/Google+/ YouTube) and on mobile Smartphones.

Are You Old School or New School?

Many people admire what is new school, stylish and hip. These people also drag those who cling to the staid, the past, the respected into the future. And if you haven’t noticed New School has been here for a while now. Facebook opened in 2004. Did you know that Facebook just passed 1.3 Billion global users and Morgan Stanley mentions in their Trend Study last year that 50% of all e-Commerce will be done on a Smartphone by 2015. That’s this year.

Are You The GAME CHANGER?

So if you are like many of the companies we speak with , why have you not jumped into with either Social or Mobile Recruiting or both? All told there are now 3.4 Billion+ of potential candidate profiles on the key social platforms many just waiting for the right contact from you. But do you know how to recruit in this new space?

Of course, the shift to greater social connectedness will continue to move forward. There is no stopping it and frankly if you are not using these social and mobile tools yourself, why not?

At a recent conference I attended about social recruiting held in Boston, not one of the 500 attendees was below the age of 30. Imagine how difference this conference would have been if the capped maximum age would have been no higher than 30. Too Bad. As a result, a lot of the discussion about social media was that of fear, uncertainty and doubt over ROI.

So is the slowness to adopt to Social and Mobile due to…

  • FEAR of failure?
  • Unwillingness to try something that is out of your comfort zone?
  • Concern over your internal leadership position or protecting it?
  • Because you are under pressure to make a ROI and do not know if you can an acceptable ROI through Social and Mobile? Yes you can and we prove it every day.
  • Or you tried social already and have yet to make it perform for your business

If any of these are a concern then let’s put these FEARS aside and let’s get into a discussion. Not only will you be comfortable that each of these concerns will be protected, I will offer you a program that guarantees you results and a solid ROI. It’s can’t be stated any simpler than that. I will guarantee it. So give me a call 952-807-8364 or email me at jeff@sourcemob.com .

Onward…to a successful 2015.
