There’s a dirty ‘M’ word that no ones likes to say…

…HR ideas from Jeffery Giesener – CEO – SourceMob.com

Direct Sourcing, Staffing and Search firms will go out of there way to avoid it, not realizing the negative impact it’s having on their business profits…

And that word is Marketing…. HR Marketing to be exact…

I’ve lost count of the number of Talent Acquisition pros, Staffing Recruitment individuals and Search Firms I meet with who say they don’t like HR Marketing…

Or worse they say I just don’t know how to do HR Marketing…

Or worse yet, they just don’t have the time to do it…

And they may even be spending time doing everything BUT HR Marketing because they don’t get how important it really is…

The only difference between developing a successful candidate pipeline acquisition and those who struggle is effective HR Marketing activity…

And when I say ‘effective,’ I mean profitable… meaning lowering your overall recruiting costs and delivering a demonstrable Return On Recruiting Investment™ (RORI) your Boss will enjoy taking up the Chain Of Command…

This means HR Marketing activity that adds profits to your business and NOT justifying activity that wastes time and money…

And when it comes to effective HR Marketing, well yes, I understand that there are many new advertising channels to learn about…

What works and what doesn’t has been known for some time…But do you know what they are?

No matter what anyone tells you – especially your Applicant Tracking Solutions (ATS) Company like SuccessFactor/SAP, Taleo/Oracle, Kenexa/IBM, Workday, SilkRoad, UltiPro or other; there is a ‘new’ way to do HR Marketing, which attracts candidates (both social and mobile) because it all comes down to basic human psychology.

The fundamentals of HR Marketing is the new Social and Mobile Recruiting…

And it is not about pushing a Fire Hose of chronological or alphabetic job posts at these social and mobile candidates directly from your ATS! Don’t buy into what your ATS Company is trying to get you believe in this area…

That’s why HR Marketing looks so different that what you have always done to recruit candidates… It’s all about candidate engagement…

Social and Mobile candidates first want to know about why they should work at your company? What’s in it for them?

They want to engage in conversations perhaps before they even apply or will send in their resume by email…

They want to receive relevant career alerts and notifications wherever they are on specific social channels, on the web, your communities and on their mobile phone…

Yes…there are NEW rules for attracting today’s candidates whether they are Millennials or 30-50 year olds…

And don’t think for a minute that these demographic groups are not on or using Social or Mobile to apply for jobs…

Did you know there are over 3.5 Billion social profiles on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Google+? Did you know YouTube is the second largest search engine behind Google Search? Are you using Pinterest and Instagram in your recruiting? What is your ATS Company saying about all of the social platforms?

The problem is, most Talent Acquisition pros get these HR Marketing fundamentals wrong… So it doesn’t matter what advertising media they use, they always get the same disappointing results and can’t seem to grow their candidate pipelines fast enough….

Or get the Return on Recruiting Investment (RORI) that management will support for the long term and fund…

Despite working long hard hours recruiters end up losing candidates to defection on their ATS pages not to mention bad candidate experiences on the career pages. So unfortunately they loose candidates just a quick as they can bring them in. And either way they end up standing still or with a feast and famine of candidate recruiting efforts…

If you’ve ever experienced anything remotely similar it’s because you’re breaking the HR Marketing rules and you’re getting the fundamentals wrong… But fear not, because it can be easily fixed…
